Alison models the trousers she no longer wears.  A morbidly obese Angus Branch Member was told she had just 5 years to live has scooped a top fitness award.

Alison almost 38 years old now has lost 12 stone in weight after she was warned her weight was putting her life at risk.  Just 4 years ago she was classed as morbidly obese and she was given 5 - 10 years to live.

Alison decided then to turn things around as she has a daughter (Sarah) who is growing up, and Alison could not bear the thought of Sarah losing her mum.

So she joined Fitness First in Dundee and all her hard work has now been recognised by winning 1st place in the "New You Achievements Awards"  Alison is now slender but she used to be overweight, she was bullied at school and hated PE Classes.

Following her doctors shocking revelation and with the thought of death within 5 years she began eating healthier, joined a gym and linked up with a personal trainer to keep the pounds off.

Through regular exercise with her personal trainer Scott Mackenzie and a healthy diet, Alison has gone from a size 34 to size 16 and is thrilled to finally be able to see her own feet.

Alison first read about Fitness First and saw other peoples stories on its website.  She was nervous about going and initially she struggled with motivation but after meeting Scott she knew she had changed for good and she just wants to inspire others now.

Alison does not have motivation problems now despite having MS as her new found fitness is impossible to describe.  Alison was one of 15 finalists in 5 categories at the awards and the judges described her story as truly inspirational.

Fitness First has helped Alison transform her weight, fitness and overall confidence.  "Her motivation and determination are admirable".

Alison's Email.

Hi

Web site looking great!

I CAN'T BELIEVE I WONNNNNNNNNNNNN!

I really do believe going to the gym has helped me cope with my MS.  It has given me a mental strength to deal with it and not let it ruin my life.  I do get very, very tired during exercise and my hands and feet get numb AND I sometimes need to go home and sleep. But I feel if I didn't have the gym, I would just give up and allow the MS to win.  I also feel exercise is making my body and muscles stronger..  I think it is important to be a "FIGHTER" - fight for your life, miracles happen because it has happened to meeeeeeeeee!

 Thanks again,
