The Angus Health Fair for 2009 was held at the Reid
Hall in Forfar on
Thurs 24th September. Supported by the Angus Association of Voluntary Organisations
(AAVO), Angus Council Social Work & Health & NHS Tayside.
There were approx 50 stalls with information and advice for people of all ages. The stalls included one for MS society Angus Branch.
Shona Flucker and Pauline Riley MS Specialist Nurses
were also in attendance and had a stand with lots of useful information.
The Fair ran from 10am until 3pm. Admission
was free and included a free prize draw. A lot of advice was available and
plenty of volunteers to answer any questions on Health, Healthy Eating, Exercise,
Caring,
Mental Wellbeing, and various other Support groups.
There was a good steady flow of people of all ages throughout the day and many stopped at the MS stand to ask for information and took away brochures relative to their questions.
The
stand was manned throughout the day by Arthur Boath committee member/driver - Angus
branch, Ina McBeath - Secretary Angus Branch, Jean Richardson - Angus Branch member,
& Jean Ferguson - Angus Branch member & Ronnie Ferguson - committee member.
Tea, Coffee & biscuits were available. The day was
a big success all
round & to be supported in the future. The Reid Hall Staff are to be
complimented for all their assistance & help on the Day.
