It
was decided we would try the Hillside Hotel in Montrose, we have been here before
but I believe it was a good number of years ago and apparently the hotel has had
a face lift and some work carried out since the last time when we were there for
a treasure hunt.
This
was a new venue meeting place, and I don't think we will be using it again for a
venue? The reason being, it was too small to cope with all of us, and not
because of any failings from the hotel staff. The problem we had was not enough
people are phoning to let us know they are coming or they turn up with more than
they say they have arranged to come. The staff did try very hard to accommodate
us all but the place just was not very practical, due to it not being very wheelchair
friendly and the fact that the disabled toilet is unisex and this would also need
to be shared by the all the men in our group as well which could mean quite a wait
this would not be practical for our members.
The
raffle was successful and made £200.00.
Many thanks to all who donated the prizes and take part in buying the raffles.
This is our seventh raffle this year which brings the total for all our raffles so far up to £1,823.00
Remember these raffles help to pay towards the costs of our outings so thanks go to Anne & Jean for their help in running the raffle books.
Our
next outing is the quiz night on Friday the 9th October in the British
Legion Arbroath the time is at 7.30pm.
