We were last at the Letham Hotel on Saturday the 20th September 2008.
This is was our Annual General Meeting for 2009. Our last A.G.M. was held on Saturday 26th April 2008 in the Station Hotel, Carnoustie.
Our A.G.M. went well it was a nice dry sunny day and there was a lot of members came out to this event. The head count that we did was 54 so this was a good turn out. The atmosphere was very friendly and we all had tea or coffee with sandwiches and sausage rolls, there was also plenty cakes and biscuits to be had.
Brian Scally started the meeting, and announced that Dave Fowler had resigned due to poor health reasons, he also told everyone that Irene has stepped down from the committee as well. Brian also told everyone that Ian McKay was standing down from his post on the committee but said that Ian would still be doing our quiz nights for us.
He then told everyone that Brian Robson had been nominated for the Chairpersons post and this was duly seconded by lots of other members. So Brian Scally then stepped down to allow Brian Robson to chair the rest of the meeting.
Brian Robson was now chairing the meeting and carried on with all the rest of nominations, once this was finished he then announced that our Red cross first aid staff were retiring from their posts due their age. So Brian thanked them for all their help in the past and got members of the committee to present them with flowers and all of our members clapped their hands in appreciation to this. (see above).
This is our third raffle this year and the raffle done well as usual and made a total of £245.00p and I hope your not superstitious because that brings the total for the raffles this year to £666.00p.
Jean and Anne have ran the raffle for years now, and it is well established now so thanks go to Jean and Anne, also everyone who brings in donations which are then used for prizes for the raffle.
The raffle is a joint effort by everyone who bring in donations, or even members who just simply buy the raffle tickets to take part.
The raffle has been ran properly for years now, but it is a team effort of members, suppliers, and committee workers.
The raffle helps pay towards some of the cost of the event so it is good that most people help contribute in this.
