At the beginning of July, 1961, Brigadier J.A. Oliver and Mrs Oliver hosted a garden party at their home, West Newton, for members of the Dundee and Angus branch of the Multiple Sclerosis Society. A company of over 100 attended and were entertained by John and Bill Ramsey, Arbirlot, on piano accordian, Dave McKenzie, of the British Legion played bagpipe selections. Our picture shows Mrs Gardener, wife of the Arbroath Provost, presented a bouquet to Mrs Oliver. The group comprises, from left- Brigadier Oliver, Mrs Oliver, Mrs Gardiner and Provost D.A. Gardiner.
